Wings of Fancy

/geren/brookside/PICT0053.jpg

Some of you may remember that a couple of years back, I went with members of the Baltimore Camera Club to Brookside Gardens for their annual butterfly exhibit.

This morning after church, Donna and I decided we needed to “get away” for a photographic expedition. I remembered seeing the signs that the exhibit was returning this year, and so, we decided to head on down.

This was Donna’s first trip to the exhibit, and also her first trip to Brookside Gardens. I’ll let her tell about her impressions of the place herself. The short form is that we had a really good time, and each shot well over 100 images. Hopefully, we’ll get a few of them in “web shape” sometime in the next couple of weeks, and we’ll make a joint gallery of them.

Photogeek Details:
Camera: Konica-Minolta DiMAGE A2
Shutter Speed: 1/200
Aperture: f:3.5
ISO: 100
Focal Length: 50.8mm (35mm equiv = 200mm), macro mode
Exposure Mode: Normal Program
Metering Mode: Pattern

Photoshop 7.0 used for cropping and minor contrast correction only.

I’m really loving the way the A2 handles. First, it’s faster than the A1, and the EVF (electronic viewfinder) is sharper. Coupled to that, manual focus is much more responsive. So, it’s much easier to react to quickly changing conditions. (Note to self: Don’t let Donna get hold of the A2… :-) ).
