It’s the New Math

Today in TV-land, I directed another hearing on the new plans by the local department on aging. Not real exciting television, but, someone’s got to do it. During teardown, I over heard part of a conversation between two older women, which went something like this:

“…I don’t understand. Years ago, we graduated after eleventh grade, and we were 18 years old when we graduated. Now they go to 12th grade, and they’re still 18 when they get out.”

“I know. And there wasn’t kindergarten then, either.”

“High School was only 9th, 10th, and 11th grade… How does that work?”

Ladies, I have your answer — it’s the New Math!
