Contracts, Contracts, Contracts!

I had a happy phone call today. For several years, I’ve been involved in the Howard County Cable Advisory Committee as meeting recordist, and confidant to the Cable Administrator. However, last December, she resigned, and there hasn’t been a new Administrator until just yesterday. This morning, the new Administrator called to ask if I would be interested in continuing the arrangement. It’s not a lot of money, but, of course, I said, “Yes!”

I’ve also renewed my freelance contract with Maryland Public Television. I got a little news yesterday that many of the freelancers have not renewed their contracts yet. If they don’t get their contract back in time, they’ll have to go through the new contract process all over again, which can take several months. This could translate into more work for me.

I got word from my partner yesterday that it’s looking very good for us to win a bid on a fairly large audio/visual system installation.

And finally, all of next year’s budget for GTV got approved, which includes money for me to pickup more hours there.
