Sold Out?

“Oh, goodness!” you’re thinking! Geren’s sold out! There are advertisements on this site now! Well, yes there are. It’s more of an experiment than anything else, and, if I do make a few pennies from it, well, that’s good, too.

One of the reasons for adding the adverts is that this site is a test bed of sorts for some of my other web adventures. Right now, I’m working on a “community” web site, and there are going to be a couple of forms of sponsors for the project. Some are to be directly solicited, and will pay me directly, via a PayPal account. Others will be Google Adsense advertisers. Adsense is supposed to use some sort of intelligence to “sense” the content on the current page, and serve up relevent ads. We’ll be seeing just how well it works over the next few days as I work to incorporate the ads into various placement possibilities.

Do me a favor, if you would, and poke around the site, and visit the sponsor links. Then, let me know how well the technology actually works. It should be an interesting experiment.
