Katrina … and The Waves

I haven’t had much to say about Katrina. What is there to say, that hasn’t already been said. We are bombarded by words and images from the Gulf Coast. I’m sure that I’m not alone in being quite overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Like many others, I’ve lost touch with a friend who lives and works in New Orleans. I’ve tried to call him for the last three days. He is a doctor, and so would probably have been one of those who stayed.

Apparently, he and his fiance had to abandon everything — including their brand new house — and flee to Memphis.
