The Weekend in Pictures

We had a pretty whirlwind weekend, all over the Eastern Shore.

Pictures from the weekend!

Saturday we went to the Chesapeake Maritime Museum for their annual small boat festival. It’s always neat to see all the beautifully built boats. They have a great time racing them and showing them off. All the owners love to talk about their boats, and there are also plenty of vendors on hand. The museum puts on a bunch of neat special exhibits (which we missed, of course).

After hanging out at the museum, we had lunch to celebrate Donna’s birthday (early, since we won’t be down at the shore again until Thanksgiving time).

From there, we headed across the peninsula to Dewey Beach to catch Stereopool at the Dewey music festival. Over the course of three evenings, they had 175 performances on 17 stages spread out all around Dewey. The setup was pretty darned impressive, with some venues hosting multiple stages. We only heard a couple of groups, but what we heard was really very good. Impressive.

Sunday was a bit more relaxing, as we went to the Celtic Festival near Snow Hill. The Celtic Festival isn’t really all the big or exciting, but we got to hear some great Celtic music, and found garb for the Ren Fest at a fantastic price — maybe half what it would cost elsewhere. So, it was a really great day!

Anyway, I’m exhausted still, from all the driving — almost 5 hours on Saturday alone! But it was a great weekend, and I’m in a pretty decent mood. Take a look at some of my pictures here.
