WordPress 2.0 is coming, and apparently fairly soon. I’ve been seeing some bits of that development over at my On30Guy WordPress.com site.
Pretty much everything I see, I like. However, I’m dreading the upgrade, both here and at Orchard Studios. Both sites are heavily customized and use a large number of plug-ins — plug-ins which [...]
ICDSoft had a little burp last night during a server core upgrade. It was supposed to be a 10 minute scheduled shut down, but something went kerfluey. Subsequently, I’ve missed a bunch of e-mail — about 4 hours worth. I’m not sure yet whether it was queued or not.

We’re just back from one of our trips to the Eastern Shore to visit my parents, this time for Thanksgiving. For a good part of the weekend, I was on a mission — to get a new pair of Sperry Topsiders — an amazingly difficult task that took three days to complete. But, that’s another [...]
In case you needed any more proof that the UPS package tracking system is an utter farce, here’s the tracking on a package I received today. A couple of things to notice:
First, the package never went “out for delivery” today. Yet, I received it. How’d that happen?
Second, the delivery destination shown is in Laurel. I’m [...]
I received a response today to my query of the folks at Peterson’s Photographic magazine, regarding the demise of the publication.
Dear Geren Mortensen,
For each un-served issue of your Photographic Subscription you will receive Shutterbug Magazine.
Would you like to lock in your savings even further with Shutterbug and add more issues to your current subscription? [...]
We received our copy of Peterson’s Photographic magazine in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately, it will be the last. The magazine has ended 33 years of publication with this issue. Apparently, they’ll be folded into Shutterbug magazine.

Geren and Donna will be showing and selling a wide array of mounted photographs, as well as our nearly famous original note card sets!
The craft fair will be held at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, in Columbia, Maryland on Saturday, November 19, 2005 from 9AM to 4PM

It is the night before yet another show for Orchard Studios, and I’m pleased to report that we are not running about the house like the proverbial headless chicken, madly matting prints and getting things packaged.
No, we finished that up last night, at a reasonable hour, no less.
In fact, I got everything on that blasted [...]
It’s gettin’ busy at chez geren again.
Today: Work at GTV. One of our on-air computer systems blew up last night. We’re about half-broadcasting today. All of our taped programming is going on-air fine, but our computer-generated information system bit the big one. I’m waiting anxiously for a new computer. We also have one of our [...]
