Konica Minolta to Call it Quits!
Yes, it’s true. Konica-Minolta will cease to produce 35mm and digital camera products effective March 31 of this year. Much of their digital technology will be transferred to Sony. Details are here.

That’s right. That’ leaves Canon and Pentax ruling the 35mm film market for affordable cameras. Leica and Contax are still out there, and I guess maybe Sigma is still making film cameras.
When National Geographic finally switched to digital (after claiming that they never would), that was the death knell for real, serious film shooting.
