Home Again

Well, we’re home again. BAH! Now comes the joy of getting caught up on all the mail, crap that has to be mailed out, client work, etc. I’m not liking it.

Welcome home and thanks for the images…..they were great.

Yes, indeed.

Now could you put together a suggested itinerary for a trip to coincide with next year’s NNGC for a “foreigner”? :-)

Thanks, Thom!

Emrys, it’s easy. Fly to Portland, Maine, and plan to arrive the day before the convention, so you have time to settle in. Attend convention, and have a blast. Fly home. Pretty easy, I’d say.

No, no. I’m planning a two week visit this time, Geren (I did the fly-in-attend-fly-home thing for Dearborn).

Which are the Maine railroad attractions should I definitely not miss while I’m there?

(Maine railroad attractions? Hehehe.)

The Sandy River and Rangely Lakes will be operating for the convention, as well as the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington. WW&F #10 was originally built as a 30-inch gauge engine for a railroad in South Carolina! I’m hoping by then that they’ll have both #9 and #10 running. There are two others nearby, and they’re listed on the NNG convention web site.
