Windows!

The folks came out today and installed our windows and storm door this afternoon. There was the easy part, and then the hard part.

The easy part was getting the old windows out, and the new windows set in place. All seven were done in about 40 minutes. I could have done that myself, though it may have taken me longer (two of the three guys that came out were doing it — the third was working on the storm door). Then, they got out the vinyl-clad aluminum and started making parts to cover up the old trim. They made relatively quick work of it, turning out 28 custom parts (four per window) and installing them in about two-and-a-half more hours. That part I couldn’t have done myself.

The door was, apparently, a little trickier. The fellow working on it took almost 4 hours to get it installed and working right. That’s ’cause our house ain’t straight. I helped my dad put one on several years ago. It was a pain in the butt. I could’ve done it myself. But I really wouldn’t want to.

So, now we’re cozy and warm and air-tight and in debt up to our eyeballs. Somebody help us! At least our electric bills should better be lower.

Yes, what you two definitely need is more work. :-/

‘Cause all the space currently consumed on your calendars with jobs, not including side projects, isn’t enough. You’re lookin’ for such a smack!
