Why the Hype?
What is the big deal about the PS3? Why are people bidding up to eight grand for these things? Or shooting one another over them? They’re just a stupid video game, for crying out loud. Get a frickin’ life!

it’s partially the hype and partially the lack of supply… tickle-me-elmo all over again, this time with late teen and older guys and their testostorone… and the possibility of huge ebay sales (or even huger bragging rights) for the few who get one.
you’re right though, it’s dumb. just go get an XBox 360 and be happy… the games are as good if not better and the thing’s both less expensive and available.
Geez, it turns out that lack of supply was even worse that people had been lead to believe it would be.

Advertise 1Million, then say you’re going to ship 400,000 but really ship less than half that!? Crazy way to do business.
(Another thought I had yesterday… remember kids getting shot for their Nikes? *sigh* It’s not a few phenomenon.)
