Dark Music
Yesterday’s discussion of the “darkness” of John Dowland’s compositions led me to poke ’round the ‘net, looking for dark music. The search turned up a couple of interesting sites…
First is Fred’s Official Dark Site Index, where “you’ll find the links to the OFFICIAL sites of many dark-wave / gothic / electro / indus /… projects. Few are unofficial, but they can give good informations. And, of course, some bands are dead now (may they rest in peace), but at least their homepages are still alive!” There are a lot of bands listed here, and the site was even updated within the past few days. I haven’t had time to go through the whole listing — and may never get to all of it, but, I did find at least one group that I’d heard of before …
… All About Eve. I don’t really know when or where I’d heard about this group. But, in listening to a few of their tunes, I heard a lot of what Rob and I were trying to do musically several years ago. Interesting stuff.
As I have time to explore more, I’ll post little bits about some other “dark” bands.

I’ve heard of All About Eve before. Dunno where or when, but the name’s familiar. They’ve been around for a while, haven’t they?
Rob,
Yeah, they have been around for quite a while. Their earlier stuff is far “poppier” than their current music.
