The sudden cold has brought a new species of bird to our feeders. These fellows are Brown Headed Cowbirds.
The Cowbirds usually eat insects — they originally followed herds of Bison to eat the insect they attracted. Now that it’s gotten really cold (for here), they’re looking for alternative eats.

According to Dell, my little machine will leave their plant today, and I should have it on Monday! I am so excited! Interestingly, it shipped according to the original “estimated” schedule, not the revised schedule that didn’t show up until after I placed the order.
