Morning at Turkey Point
I went out shooting with my friend, Thom, today, on a tour of lighthouses and covered bridges. Here’s one of my favorite’s from the day. I shot basically two lenses all day long — the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 and the new Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, and had an absolute blast!
This image is of the Turkey Point lighthouse, in Elk Neck State Park. We got there just a few seconds past sunrise, which was just about perfect timing. The time was 7:33am, and I used the 12-24mm at 17mm for this shot. The exposure was f/5.6 at 1/50th of a second, ISO200. The camera was on a tripod for this shot, though I could have hand-held okay.
4:00am came awfully early this morning (that’s when I got up to get ready to head out the door!), and I’m fully whipped at this point. So, you’ll have to wait until sometime tomorrow for more pictures.

Looks like getting up at 4am really paid off for you.
