Big Changes at the CMPG
We held our first formal elections at the CMPG last night, marking our change from what we’ve jokingly referred to as a “benevolent dictatorship” to a real, structured organization. Due to time constraints, I felt that I wasn’t giving the best as Director of the organization any more. Additional, I had always said that, once the club reached a certain level of size and stability, I would step down as director. So last night, I handed over the reins (or, is that reign) of the club to Rob Novak. It’s hard to believe that I had been in the Director’s chair since November of 2003.
Of course, my involvement in the club that I founded (along with Will Burnham, Tony Webb and Thom Perry) is far from over. I will now serve as the Educational Services Coordinator, which will allow me to concentrate on the very reason I formed the CMPG to begin with:
to further the art and craft of photography, with a concentration on educating its members in the areas of photographic technique, use of equipment and in concepts of composition and aesthetics.
I’m really looking forward to my new responsibilities, which involve organizing regular seminars for both members and the public, as well as working to develop the schedule for our regular meeting discussion topics — and finding the people to lead them!

Congrats……….I guess. You’ve done a great job.
I’m sure you will do as great in the new position.
Give my congrats to Rob also. You guys really have a great club as proven by the increase in membership and your attention to educating people that want to become better phtographers.
NOW…….GO OUT AND SHOOT SOMETHING!!
