Free (or Cheap) PDF Creator

If you need a way to create PDF files, but don’t use a program that supports writing PDF files directly (such as OpenOffice), then consider PDF995. This package installs easily, and looks like any other printer to applications. To create a PDF, simply print the file, and choose PDF995 as the output.

The free version of the software opens a couple of annoyware windows when it launches, but for only $9.95, you can upgrade to a fully supported version. For $19.95, you can buy a suite of tools that allows editing of PDF documents, which enables shuffling of pages and merging of PDF documents. Not a bad deal!

CutePDF is an alternative that doesn’t nag you, if all you’re looking for is a renderer/encapsulator.
