Digiscoping and the Canon Rebel XTi (400d)

digiscopediary

I just happened across a UK site authored by a fellow who uses a Canon 400d along with a P&S for digiscoping. From what he’s written, it seems my approach using the generic adapter will work okay.

I too use a Canon Rebel with my swarovski 80 HD. BUT, the focusing is off just a little. Should the scope eye-piece be screwed in, as it should be for using eye-glasses, or out (fully extended)?

Good question, Larry. My scope is a considerably less expensive model, with a fixed eyepiece — the only adjustment on the eyepiece is for changing the final magnification. That said, I found that the most important aspect of achieving reasonably sharp focus is to be sure that the camera is perfectly aligned with the scope.
