Zip Zapped … For Now

For the time being, I’ve decided that it would be best to hold off on buying the motor scooter. It’s not that it’s a bad idea, it’s just that I would prefer to go about it the “right way.”

After a lot of research and thought, I’ve determined that a 49cc scooter (for which a motorcycle license is not required) will probably not satisfy me or my needs for long enough to make the investment worthwhile — something larger would be a better choice.

That, of course, means that I’ll have to get a motorcycle license. The MVA here in Maryland actually offer a rider training program that’s designed to help people get their motorcycle license with a minimum of hassle. If all goes well, at the end of the classes, you get a “certificate of completion” which you use in lieu of the usual test to get your license (basically, the tests to pass the class are the same as the regular motorcycle license test).

At this point, all classes are full through late July, so, as soon as classes open again, I’ll be signing up, and hopefully, I can get a class schedule that will work around our vacation to Maine.
