Indie Heaven Spotlight Seeks New Site

This past weekend, AcoustiSound provided sound reinforcement for the Indie Heaven Spotlight concert series, hosted by Rick LaRocca, and held at the Lakeside Cafe in Columbia. Rick’s been doing this series at the Lakeside Cafe since last November, and the series has been quite successful. Unfortunately, our hosts at the Lakeside Cafe have decided that they wish to spend more time with their families, and can no longer host the monthly concert series.

Traditionally, the concerts have been held on the second Saturday of each month, in the early evening, and features music from two “acts” with an audience of up to 40 people. If you can think of a convenient venue for such a concert series, we’d love to hear from you.

What about the Donna’s in Columbia? They have music there on occasion.

Have you tried calling the Barnes & Noble in Long Gate?

Sarah and Desmond’s in EC is opening up again. They had music at the old site once or twice.

Johnny’s on Main might be amenable, but I don’t know the owners.

The Pour House in Westminster might be good to try. They do music there, don’t they? They’ve also had photography showcased on the walls. Might be a good place to display CMPG work.

What coffee shops and tea rooms have you tried?

Thanks, Theresa. I’ll pass all of these ideas along to Rick.
