Google’s Shiny New Browser
Google has released the beta version of “Chrome,” their new open-source browser. Chrome is touted as being a fast, stable browser designed from the ground up to do a good job of running today’s java- and flash-laden web sites. Generally speaking, it performs well. About the only thing I couldn’t get to work was logging in to an Exchange Web Server (the same server locks my machine completely when using Internet Explorer 7, so I think it’s more a problem with the Exchange server).
Chrome is a little different than any other browser you’ve used — there’s no menu bar, the tabs are at the top of the window, and the address and search bars are combined into what Google calls the “Omnibar.” That takes about 20 seconds to get used to, and from there, you’re cruzin’ the web — fast!
If you’re looking for an escape from the run-of-the-mill browser experience, give Chrome a chance. You might just like it. Just remember, it is beta software, so your mileage may vary.

You know that’s another browser to have to test your template on now… I haven’t yet tried it, although I’m pretty sure the link on the google homepage is going to wear me down sooner or later! I’m so happy with Firefox, that I can’t imagine being any happier with anything else… mind you, I used to feel that way about IE! Cheers, Dan
