A Little Bored, A Little Lazy

Obvioulsy, I loaded up a new theme on the blog yesterday. And, yes, I know it’s got an Apple logo at the top. No, I haven’t bought one … yet. But, as WordPress has moved forward through the versions, there are a lot of changes in the stylesheet tags for images, and I’ve been both too busy and too lazy to keep up. Rather than spend the hours figuring out which tags have changed, and re-writing my style sheet, I just loaded up a more modern theme that behaves properly. I’ll get around to tweaking it someday.

I’m definitely impressed with how WP’s been coming along. It’s actually usable (IMO) now, whereas past versions’ admin interfaces drove me batty. The Theme Widget support is a godsend - no more editing of templates to insert plugin code blocks.

The 2.7 preview’s out, and they’re really plugging away at refining things further.

Yeah, I noticed you’re using WP for Eat Free or Die. I knew you’d come around eventually … :)

Just another thought … while the widgets thing is fantastic, there are some themes that are supposedly widget-ready, but don’t properly handle CSS within the widgets. That’s part of the reason for the theme change here.
