While trying to find out some information about Minolta serial numbers and “dating” older gear, I came across a great site for all sorts of information on Sony and Minolta cameras, lenses and accessories: Michael Hohner Photography Pages.
Geren has been a photographer since childhood, and took on his first professional assignments while still in high school. He has used equipment from almost every major manufacturer, as well as some lesser-known brands.
Late in 2013, Geren began a transition to Fujifilm's X-series of mirrorless and compact cameras, and has become somewhat of an evangelist for the brand, especially their rangefinder-like models.
Geren has also been an active musician and sound engineer in the Baltimore/Washington area for many years, playing keyboards for several area bands and offering live-sound services at clubs and festivals.
In addition, Geren is a well-known model railroader who shares his interest in trains as The On30 Guy.
